Fancy Jeans helps kids with cancer 
For the Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation Fancy Jeans Cocktail Party, raffle ticket holders in designer denim came out for a chance to win lavish prizes and raise money for underprivileged children with cancer.

Betty Webber of Erpenbeck Elementary School received this month’s Break the Mold award at the Boone County Board of Education Meeting on March 9. A chorus and music teacher, Webber has been employed by Boone County Schools for seven years.

Man Shot In 7-Eleven Parking Lot 
Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old Des Moines man in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven convenience store in Kent.
